Write Here
(It’s where you belong!)
The Circle
Most writing spaces ask you to do something. Write Here lets you be something.
Simply put: Come in. Sit down. Work on your stuff. That’s it. No structure. No itinerary. Just writers hanging out and writing. You are invited to work on your poems, novels, just journal—how you write is up to you!
Write Here is a low-pressure writing hangout; it’s a place to sit among other people who are writing, thinking, or just being. It’s for people who write a lot, people who haven’t written in years, and people who just want to sit at a table with a notebook and feel less alone.
There’s no pressure to be productive. No pressure to be vulnerable. No pressure to perform. The value of the space comes from being in it together. Writing next to someone else, even quietly, changes how it feels to be alone with your thoughts.
This isn’t about output. It’s about belonging. You don’t have to earn your seat at the table.
Quiet Connections
A sign in sheet will be available, with designated categories where you can write your IG handle if you’d like other circle goers to become new friends.
You are allowed to be as outgoing or antisocial as you want here! There are no expectations–just support.
You might want to write your name under:
“I’m looking for new brunch besties”
“I’m looking for a low maintenance friend okay with inconsistent texting”
“I’m just here, but pretend I’m not” (if new friends aren’t your thing!)
Loose Leaf: The Community Diary
A community diary is also present at every Softspoke Circle and Soft Mic: a leave-behind journal where guests can contribute anonymous thoughts, lines, or reflections for future readers.
Anyone is welcome to write in it - something short, something deep, something raw, something quiet. This journal is for both the artists and the attendees to participate in.
You can read the pages that came before, or just leave your own.
At the bottom of each page, you’ll find a simple question: Can we share this anonymously on our website or Instagram? You choose. Yes or no. Your voice, your call.
The result is a soft ecosystem of care, connection, and community.
